A typical day at Heliotrope
07:00 - 08:00
Hot drinks and light pre-yoga breakfast for those who need something to get them started...
08:00 - 10:15
The main yoga class of the day - a chance to get deeper into the practice than would normally be possible with a daily class. Classes typically last between two and two and a half hours on a general week. The nice thing is not having to worry about rushing off at the end....
10:30 - 11:30
Brunchtime! A large, appetizing selection of things commonly found on Turkish breakfast tables - fresh tomatoes, cucumber, olives, greens (rocket, parsley, etc), home-made jams and pastries, various egg dishes, tahini & pekmez (delicious and very nutritious pure fruit syrup), home-made bread, yoghurt, fruit - you get the idea! All washed down with glasses of Turkish tea or some coffee.
11:30 - 17:00
Free time - most days an optional excursion is organized. This might be a boat trip, a visit to some of the stunning nearby Roman /Lykian ruins, a trip to the local market, or even a visit to the 'Fire Mountain'. The charming local beach is a 20 minute walk away. If that all sounds too energetic then there are some great chilling spots in the garden, even some hammocks to read books and have a guilt-free doze...
17:30 - 19:00
Late afternoon yoga session. Often a restorative or more gentle class of some sort. May start earlier at some times of year.
19:15 - 20:15
Evening meal. A buffet selection of vegetarian, Turkish food with a soup starter and fruit / dessert to follow. Big on salads and local vegetables, pulses and the like.
